Indica is a type of marijuana that originated in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Along with sativa, it’s one of the two main types of cannabis, and you may have heard it described as “in da couch.” This is because indica-dominant strains have a reputation for giving relaxing, full-body highs. Check out the most popular indicas on the scene now!
Northern Lights
Northern Lights is more than just one of the most popular strains at dispensaries across Canada – it’s one of the best-known strains in the world! This pure indica has 16.5% THC, and the psychoactive effects from this sweet and spicy strain with the pungent aroma settle into the whole body.
Northern Lights is the perfect strain for relaxing both the body and mind with a dreamy high, and most users find the mellowness helps relieve stress, anxiety, and sleeplessness. It’s not as strong as some of the others on this list, but it’s still a great option for newbies and connoisseurs alike.
Blueberry
Another strain with a long history, enthusiasts turn to Blueberry indica for a unique, flavourful experience. It has a sweetness similar to fresh blueberries, and because this is combined with super relaxing effects, the long-lasting euphoric feeling of Blueberry has made it a top pick.
At 17%, Blueberry is high in THC, but this isn’t the only reason it’s a favourite. Cannabis experts admire it for the colourful hues of the bud, and it’s a good pick for those who want to relieve pain and stress.
Pink Kush
Pink Kush is an indica-dominant hybrid with powerful body-focused effects. It’s high in THC, so if you’re new to cannabis, be aware that the strain’s potency can become overpowering. Small doses go a long way with Pink Kush!
Don’t worry, because this strain has a reputation as a very relaxing bud. A microdose before bedtime can relieve sleeplessness, and the sweet candy-like aroma with hints of vanilla are an incredible treat.
MK Ultra
MK Ultra is an indica-dominant strain with sticky, strong-smelling flowers. Like Pink Kush, MK Ultra’s powerful, calming effect is great in small doses. It works quickly, too, and even a small amount will have you feeling very happy.
Because of its strength and full-body effects, save a little MK Ultra for a Saturday afternoon you can spend on the couch – enjoy a little and you won’t want to get up for a while.
God Bud
An indica all Canadians can feel good about, God Bud is a potent indica-dominant hybrid of Hawaiian, Purple Skank, and a B.C. strain called “God.” It’s potent, providing a strong high while having a very pleasant flavour of tropical fruit. Experts might detect hints of berry, pine, and lavender.
Users report that the effects of God Bud are more relaxing than anything else, and it has a reputation for creating calming, positive feelings.
