If you’re shopping for cannabis in London, Ontario, price matters. With more dispensaries and online retailers competing for your business than ever before, there’s a real range in what you’ll pay for the same gram of flower, the same pack of gummies, or the same vape cartridge. This guide breaks down how cannabis is priced in London, what to watch out for, and where you’ll consistently find the best value.
Why Cannabis Prices Vary So Much in London, Ontario
Legal cannabis pricing in Ontario isn’t fixed. Each retailer sets their own prices, which means two dispensaries can carry the same product category at very different price points. A few factors drive those differences.
Quality tier. Cannabis flower is typically graded from AA (budget) through to AAAA (premium craft). Higher grades cost more, and rightfully so — but not every retailer is transparent about how they grade their product. At The Purple Leaf, we clearly label quality tiers so you know exactly what you’re getting before you buy.
Overhead costs. Brick-and-mortar dispensaries carry significant overhead — rent, staff, utilities — and those costs get passed on to the customer. Online retailers operating with lower overhead can price more competitively and pass the savings directly to you.
The OCS markup. The Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS), the provincial government retailer, is not known for competitive pricing. Private licensed retailers consistently offer better deals, especially on bulk purchases, concentrates, and edibles.
Promotions and volume deals. The best prices in the London cannabis market aren’t always on the menu — they’re in weekly sales, bundle deals, and bulk pricing. Knowing which retailers run consistent promotions makes a significant difference in what you spend over time.
What Cannabis Should Cost in London, Ontario — A General Pricing Guide
Here’s a rough guide to fair market pricing for legal cannabis in Ontario as of 2026. If a retailer is charging significantly more than these ranges, you’re likely overpaying.
Flower (dried cannabis):
- Budget AA grade: $4–$6 per gram
- Mid-range AAA grade: $7–$10 per gram
- Premium AAAA craft: $12–$16 per gram
- Budget ounce deals: $80–$120 for 28 grams
Edibles:
- THC gummies (standard pack): $15–$25
- Chocolate bars: $10–$20
- Capsules (per bottle): $20–$40
Concentrates:
- Shatter (per gram): $15–$30
- Live resin (per gram): $25–$50
- Hash rosin (per gram): $30–$60
Vapes:
- Disposable vape pens: $20–$45
- 510-thread cartridges (0.5g–1g): $25–$55
These are general ranges. The Purple Leaf works hard to sit at the competitive end of each category, and our regular sales push prices well below these benchmarks.
Where to Find the Best Cannabis Prices in London, Ontario
The Purple Leaf
The Purple Leaf is consistently one of the most competitively priced cannabis retailers serving London, Ontario. A few reasons our customers keep coming back for value:
Budget ounce deals. Our budget ounce program is one of the most popular offerings in Southern Ontario. Starting at $20 for a small quantity and scaling up to $80 for a full ounce, it’s the most affordable way to buy cannabis flower in the London area. These deals move fast, so we recommend checking the site regularly.
Regular sales and promotions. We run frequent promotions across all product categories — flower, edibles, concentrates, and vapes. Signing up for our newsletter gets you early access to deals before they’re listed publicly.
Bulk pricing. The more you buy, the more you save. Our pricing structure rewards customers who stock up, with meaningful discounts available on larger quantities.
No inflated storefront markup. Because The Purple Leaf operates primarily as an online retailer, we don’t carry the same overhead costs as a high-street brick-and-mortar dispensary. That means better prices for you on every order.
Tips for Getting the Best Cannabis Deals in London, Ontario
Buy in bulk when you find a good strain. Per-gram pricing drops significantly when you buy an ounce versus a single gram. If you’ve found a flower you love, buying in bulk is almost always the smarter financial move.
Check for weekly deals before every order. The cannabis market in Ontario moves quickly. Retailers rotate their promotions, and the best deals are often time-limited. Bookmarking thepurple-leaf.com and checking before you order takes 30 seconds and can save you real money.
Don’t confuse cheap with good value. The lowest price isn’t always the best deal. A $4/gram AA flower and an $8/gram AAA flower are different products. Understanding quality tiers helps you spend your money where it counts.
Compare the full cost. When comparing dispensaries, factor in delivery fees, minimum order requirements, and shipping costs. A retailer with slightly lower product prices but high delivery fees may end up costing you more. The Purple Leaf displays all costs transparently at checkout with no surprise fees.
Use concentrates as a value play. If you’re an experienced user, concentrates like shatter and distillate offer significantly more potency per dollar than flower. A gram of quality shatter delivering 80%+ THC can go further than multiple grams of flower at a similar price point.
Does Cheaper Cannabis Mean Lower Quality?
Not necessarily — but it can. Here’s how to tell the difference.
Budget cannabis (AA grade) is typically older stock, less visually appealing, and may have a less complex flavour profile. It’s perfectly functional for everyday use, especially for edible-making or vaping via a concentrate. For casual users on a budget, it’s a practical option.
Mid-range (AAA) cannabis is where most recreational users find the sweet spot: good potency, pleasant aroma and flavour, and consistent effects at a fair price.
Premium (AAAA) craft cannabis is for users who prioritize the full sensory experience — complex terpene profiles, dense well-trimmed buds, and top-end potency. You pay more, but you’re getting a meaningfully different product.
At The Purple Leaf, all grades are clearly labeled and described so you can make an informed choice. Our staff are always available to help you find the right product at the right price point for your needs.
